The Kiel football team turned the ball over in their own end three times in the first half and visiting Two Rivers turned a pair into scores in earning the 56-20 win on Friday night.

With Kiel (2-2, 1-2 Eastern Wisconsin Conference) having won the previous two meetings, Two Rivers (4-0, 3-0 EWC) recovered a fumble early and turned it into a 1-yard touchdown run by Dexter Smith, who minutes later was on the receiving end of a Brett Kasper bomb for a 74-yard touchdown to make it 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Smith finished the game with two receiving and two rushing touchdowns while Kasper was 31 of 39 for 309 yards with five touchdown passes. Scott Skornicka had five tackles for loss in the game for Two Rivers.

After a Bobby Geiger interception to open the second frame, Kasper hit Ethan Willman for a 5-yard touchdown. Geiger put his mark on the offensive stats sheet later in the quarter, catching two touchdown passes to make it 35-0 with three minutes left in the first half.

Kiel answered with an 80-yard touchdown run by Aaron Field with Two Rivers being forced to punt for the first time this season with 1:30 remaining in the half, making it 35-6 at halftime.

The team’s went back and forth in the third quarter to make it 56-20 entering the final frame.

For Kiel, Field had 17 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown while Jack Meunier was 4 of 6 for 74 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Kiel also had nine penalties in the game and turned the ball over a total of four times.

Two Rivers will host Sheboygan Falls on Friday in its homecoming game. If Two Rivers wins the game it will become playoff eligible.
