The Woodbridge Academy boys soccer team jumped out to a first-half lead on Friday afternoon and held on the defeat Henry Hudson 2-1.
Varun Uchil and Ali Ben-Saad scored goals less than one minute apart for Woodbridge Academy.
Matt Young scored for Henry Hudson with five minutes remaining.
Grace Brennan made five saves for Woodbridge Academy which improved to 7-9-1. James Trivitt had four saves for Henry Hudson.
Woodbridge 2, South River 1: Rodrigo DaSilva scored one goal and added one assist and Steven Luzuriaga added one goal to power Woodbridge (8-8-3). Rob Parker and Sean Torres combined to make nine saves for the Barrons. South River (15-3-2) netted a second-half goal.

Highland Park 2, Spotswood 1: Jessie Dominick scored one goal and added one assist and Charlotte Finegold added one goal for Highland Park (12-7). Ashley Lozada made seven saves for the Owls. Jessica Meagher scored one goal, while Emma Curci made eight saves for Spotswood (10-9).
Edison 0, WW-P South 0: Kerry Eskay and Kaitlin Marold combined to make 11 saves for Edison (10-9-2).

Metuchen 6, Ranney 2: Oliva Volpe caged a hat trick and Yasmean Davis added two goals to power Metuchen in the first round of the NJSIAA North 2 Group I Tournament. The seventh-seeded Bulldogs (8-8) will visit second-seeded Pingry in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
