Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) star safety Su’a Cravens’ football skills make him one of the nation's top prospects. Cravens, a U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection, is the No. 1 safety and No. 5 overall recruit for the class of 2013, according to Rivals.

But there’s much more to the USC commit that just his intense love for the game — Cravens is also a music enthusiast.

“My friends call me Pandora because I know every song by heart,” Cravens says.

Cravens admits his parents got him hooked on the The Delfonics and Run-DMC growing up, but these days his tastes are a little more modern, so he told us.

Who are your favorite artists right now?
I listen to a little bit of everything— R&B, rock, but mostly either Dom Kennedy or Kendrick Lamar. Listening to what they say brings my mind to peace or when I need to get hyped up, I just play them, and it gets me in my zone.

What songs do you like by Kendrick Lamar?
“Money Trees” and “Swimming Pools”. He sends a message in every song. He’s not just talking about nonsense, like some rappers do.

You mentioned R.Kelly. Really?
Yeah, he’s the king of R&B — you gotta give it to him. My favorite [song] is probably “Laundromat”. It’s a really good song.

Any female artists make the cut on your playlist?
Beyoncé — man, I like all of her songs. She’s not necessarily on my playlist [before a game], but I’d probably listen to her or Nicki Minaj before I get a workout in.

I like Nicki Minaj’s energy. It makes me laugh seeing people try to sing along to her songs and actually do her different voices.

Name your power song.
“Been Thuggin'” by Dom Kennedy. I don’t know what it is, but it makes my heart start beating fast. The bass in the song really gets me in the zone.
