Freshman Amanda Visco scored the game-winning goal 4:04 into overtime as the Colts Neck girls soccer team outlasted Marlboro, 2-1, in a Shore Conference Class A North game on Friday. Senior Kelsey Burns had the assist for the Cougars (4-1, 3-1).
Burns had the ball around the 20-yard line and dribbled to the top of the box and fired a shot to the lower left for the Cougars (4-1, 3-1). Freshman Bridget King gave Colts Neck a 1-0 lead with her goal at 4:45 and then Marlboro senior Cathy Chukuka tied the game at 73:46.
RB CATHOLIC 3, HOLMDEL 1: Mackenzie Cowley had two goals and one assist and Mary Kate O’Rourke had one goal and one assist as the Caseys (5-0, 4-0) defeated the Hornets (3-2, 3-1) in a Class A Central game. Holmdel’s Shannon Wall scored at 42:05.

COLTS NECK 1, MARLBORO 0: Senior midfielder Scott Halpern scored the winning goal off a pass from Kevin DePope in the second overtime period leading the Cougars (2-1, 2-1) past the Mustangs (0-2-2) in a Class A North game.
DePope crossed the ball to a streaking Halpern near post, who tucked the game winner into the back of the net from about six yards out. Colts Neck goalie David Reingold recorded the shut out.
LONG BRANCH 1, FREEHOLD 0: Welke Galvao scored another game-winner off a corner kick from Lucas Andrade in the 74th minute leading the Green Wave (4-0) over Colonials (2-1, 2-1) in a Class B North game.
IN FIELD HOCKEY
TR NORTH 1, BRICK 0: Senior striker Kristina Malmstrom netted her second goal of the season at 41:43, giving the Mariners a Class A South win over the Green Dragons (2-3, 1-3).
Malmstrom scored from six yards into the lower left-hand corner of the net off an assist from Jess Torre. Sophomore Allison Faber and junior Kailin McGuire teamed for the Mariners’ first shutout of the season, turning back three and four shots, respectively.
FREEHOLD TWP. 1, FREEHOLD 0: Junior Meghan Lyttle scored her first career goal and the game-winning goal at 22:25 to lead the Patriots (5-0) past the Colonials (3-1) in a nondivisional game.
Freehold’s Alyson LeBlanc made seven saves and Freehold Township’s Lori Brennan made 10 saves.
