Dillon Walker of Salesianum has been named Player of the Year by the Delaware Boys Lacrosse Coaches Association, and the state champion Sals placed six players on the 11-man first team released Tuesday.
In addition to Walker, a senior attacker, junior midfielder Sean Giampietro, sophomore midfielder Troy Reeder, senior midfield specialist Kyle Gangemi, senior defender Justin Verratti and senior goalkeeper Matt Barone made the first team for Salesianum. The Sals capped a 16-3 season with a 13-2 victory over Caesar Rodney on May 26 for their second consecutive state championship. Reeder was the only sophomore on the first team.
Tower Hill placed two players on the first team – senior attacker Michael Pettit and senior defender John Schreppler. The other members of the first team are Bubba Johnson, a senior attacker from Caesar Rodney; Bryan Garrahan, a senior midfielder from Archmere; and Brett Tracy, a senior defender from Wilmington Friends.
