Week 2 of high school football starts with a full slate of Thursday games

By

High school football season is in full swing and Week Two marks the start of district play.

With Tennessee taking on North Carolina State on Friday night, some schools chose to move their games to Thursday to accommodate their fans.

District 3-AAA will feature three games tonight, including Oak Ridge at Central.

Oak Ridge opened its season last week with a 28-24 win over rival Farragut. The Wildcats jumped out to an early 21-0 before Farragut stormed back to make it a contest.

The victory was Oak Ridge’s first over the Admirals since 2005.

Central already has two games under its belt, however, both were losses. The Bobcats led William Blount by ten late in the third quarter last week before the Governors came back to claim a 30-20 win.

Central lost to Catholic 35-0 in its season opener.

In other District 3-AAA action, Anderson County hosts Campbell County and Halls makes the trip down Emory Road to Powell.

Bearden has looked strong in two blowout victories to start the season. They will host William Blount in a District 4-AAA match-up.
