West M volleyball clinches MVL title



West Muskingum had to work to clinch the Muskingum Valley League title Tuesday.

Host Sheridan took the Tornadoes (15-0, 18-2) to five sets before West M prevailed 25-17, 18-25, 14-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Dylana McKenzie led the way with 20 kills and five blocks, Alison Hazen added 21 assists and two aces, Abbi Brock 18 assists, Dakota McKenzie 14 kills and three blocks and Amisha Herd six aces for the Tornadoes.

Sheridan (10-6, 12-7) was led by Alli George, who was 15-of-17 serving with 23 assists, eight kills, four blocks and 11 digs. Bailey Lotozo added 13 kills, 19 digs and three aces to go with 17-of-18 serving, Taylor Gittings was 11-of-11 serving with 12 kills and six blocks, and Katyln Powers was 23 of 23 serving with an ace, 15 assists and eight digs.

Sheridan reserves won in two sets as Kaitlyn Cooke had eight kills, three aces and two digs; Janelle Reichley 12 digs and Donna Swinehart 12 assists and seven digs. West M was led by Leah Miller’s seven assists, Haley Andrews’ four kills and two aces and Leah McInturf’s two kills.
