THORNVILLE — Jordan Wheeler shared medalist honors with 39 as to lead John Glenn to a 165-169 win against host Sheridan in a Muskingum Valley League golf match at Rushcreek.

The win sent the Muskies to 9-2 in the MVL. They still trail unbeaten Tri-Valley by one match in the league standings.

Sheridan which entered the match tied with the Muskies, slipped to 8-3 in the league.

Nate Terry added 40, Derek Crum 42 and Payton Zachrich 44 for the Muskies.

Co-medalist Luke Bowen had 39, Tyler Fisher 41, Mason Conrad 43 and Trey Barber 46 for the Generals.

John Glenn won the reserve match 195-215 behind medalist Kody Perkins’ 44.

» Tri-Valley 156, Beverly Fort Frye 179: At Zanesville, Zack Forker shot 2-under-par 34 on the front nine to earn medalist honors in a nonleague match at Vista.

Austin Beyers added 38 and Braden Campbell 40 for Tri-Valley (17-1), which also had Nick Campbell’s 44.

Brennan Schilling’s 42 paced the Cadets. Devin Brooker added 43, Shon Smith 44 and Brad Martin 50.

» West Muskingum 185, Crooksville 243: At New Lexington, Kyle King and Alex Weeks shared medalist honors with 43s in an MVL match at Perry Country Club.

Caleb Jago’s 45 paced the Ceramics.

Girls Golf

» West Muskingum 218, Lakewood 221: At Hebron, Hannah Tincher shot 42 for medalist honors in a nonleague dual at Harbor Hills Country Club.

Erica Mawhorr added 44 for the Tornadoes.

Sommer Fry’s 50 led Lakewood, while Rachel Baumgartner added 54, Bailey Brownfield 56 and Hayli Ward 61.

Girls Tennis

» West Holmes 5, Zanesville 0: At Millersburg, the Knights swept every match and didn’t yield a game in a shutout on their home court.

Defending state champion Rachel Nelson defeated Emily Denton, Marki Hogle topped Emma Lee and Morgan Wagers won by forfeit in singles.

Chelsea Black and Hannah Frank blanked Kennedy Settles and Ashleigh Rock in first doubles, while Stormi Morris and Savannah Yoder won by forfeit.
