Windsor rallied in the fourth quarter, but fell short to Oneonta, 52-41, in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference girls basketball game Wednesday night.
The Black Knights trailed 33-22 at halftime, but cut the deficit to 44-38 with three minutes left in the game, but the Yellowjackets closed out the game on an 8-3 run.
Kelsey Baker scored seven of her 11 points in the first half for Oneonta. Erika Corbin led Windsor with 19 points.
Windsor 45, Chenango Valley 40: Windsor’s Nate Hayes edged Anthony Colon 1-0 in the 126-pound weight class to help lead Windsor to a Southern Tier Athletic Conference win. Nick Kennedy, Tyler Frear, and Mike Frederick also scored wins for the Black Knights.
Johnson City 59, Susquehanna Valley 21: Tyler Brazinski, Isiah Colgan, Justin Bidwell, Corey McCormick, Ben Fay, Anthony Johns, Nick Bidwell, Conner Halladay, and Reggie Williams all notched pins to lead the Wildcats over the Sabers.
Horseheads 63, Binghamton 17: Kent Krymowski pinned Chris Lavallee at 145, and Jestin Bonilla pinned Gage Brokke at 126, but the Patriots fell to the Blue Raiders.
Five named All-Region
Five field hockey players from Greene and Maine-Endwell were named to the NFHCA All-New York team and are finalists for the All-America team to be announced next week. Honored from Greene are Emma Anderson, Emily Conroe and Jahna Driscoll. From Maine-Endwell are Gabby Stein and Josie Trichka.
