WLA's Bilitz wins KML Invite


The WLA boys cross country team had the individual winner and took third in the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invite on Thursday.

Mitchell Bilitz ran the 5,000 meters in 16 minutes, 54.3 seconds to win by almost a full minute. Eric Bilitz was fifth (17:58.74) and Brady Kollmann was 18th in 19:04.37. Thirteenth-place Campbellsport’s top runner was Sam Candee, who took 38th in 19:51.66, and Ryan Biffert paced Lomira in 50th (20:23.16).

Abaigeal Theander was the top local girl at Kettle. She took 18th after running the 4,000 meters in 18:11. Her teammate Rachel Bock was 23rd in 18:29.3. Lomira was led by Briana Falk, who took 35th in 18:54.3.


The Waupun tennis team lost all three of its matches at Thursday’s Kohler Quad.

The Warriors lost to Kohler 6-1 with No. 3 singles player Alison Oestreicher winning in straight sets.

Kewaskum shut out Waupun 7-0 and the Warriors lost 5-2 to Kewaunee. The No. 1 doubles team of Megan Moore and Kalyn Hedeen won in three sets and the No. 3 team of Paige Mueller and Jessica Kapitanski cruised in straight sets.
