The primary purpose behind high school football jamboree is to help the teams improve. On Friday night, the Wren High jamboree also will try to help a local non-profit organization.
The jamboree will feature the first gathering of all three Anderson District 1 high school teams — Wren, Palmetto and first-year program Powdersville. The teams are sponsoring a “food fight” among them to help the Piedmont Emergency Relief Center.
Fans of each of the teams are asked to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to binds inside the gates at the Wren High stadium and drop them off in bins marked for their respective schools.
The jamboree is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Palmetto plays Chesnee in the first half, and Wren and Powdersville meet in the second half.
