Sydney Wycinski’s torrid scoring pace continued Monday night.

Wycinski poured in a game-high 35 points and added 13 rebounds, four steals and two assists as New Lexington pulled out a 60-51 nonleague win against host Albany Alexander.

New Lex (2-0) had leads of 14-9 after one quarter and 40-38 after three. The Panthers pulled away down the stretch, outscoring the Spartans 20-13 in the final quarter.

Wycinski, a senior, had 11 of the team’s 20 field goals and 12 of its 16 made free throws. She was 12 of 21 from the line.

Jena Cozad added seven points and three assists for the Panthers, who were 20 of 55 from the field, including a 4 of 16 showing on 3-pointers.

Jorgie Finck added six rebounds, as New Lex had 31 rebounds in all, including 12 offensive. The team had 13 turnovers.

New Lexington’s reserves won, 42-19, behind 15 points from Allie Russell.
