LOCKPORT, N.Y.- Lockport hosted the area’s largest scrimmage Saturday at Emmet Belknap Intermediate School.

The Lockport Lions have a lot of younger players on the roster this year, left tackle Khari Demos thinks they all played well.

“A lot of these guy, you know, this is their first year up here. They’re not used to, like I said, the speed of a varsity game so it was good to see them get their first game level experience,” said Demos.

Head coach Greg Bronson thinks the team is physically ready but not mentally. “A lot of the mistakes that we made today were just mistakes of not being 100% aware of what we’re supposed to do.”

The team did accomplish one thing they set out to do. “Sweet Home. We wanted to get at them today, we did, a lot better than last year. We’re looking pretty good, said starting running back James Chambers.

The Lions were 4-4-0 in 2011.
