Alex Jackson
Rancho Bernardo
The Broncos’ backstop smacked 14 homers and scored 50 runs for the CIF Open Division champs. He has been one of the top players in the state since his freshman year.

J.P. Crawford
The 6-foot-2 shortstop and right-handed pitcher batted .473 as a senior, swiping 17 bases in 19 attempts. The Phillies made him the No. 16 overall pick in the MLB Draft.

Kevin Franklin
Batted .448 with nine homers and 37 RBI and was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Red.

Ryan McMahon
Mater Dei
The 6-foot-2 third baseman hit .420 with four homers and 32 RBIs for a Monarchs squad that was considered one of the nation’s top teams. McMahon was selected by the Rockies with the No. 42 pick in the MLB Draft.

Dominic Smith
Serra (Gardena)
Smith capped his terrific career by hitting .493 with seven homers and 37 RBIs to lead the Cavaliers to a CIF Southern Section Division III championship. A lefty first baseman, the Mets made him the No. 11 pick in the MLB Draft and he quickly signed with the team.

Jordan Paroubeck
Junipero Serra
Hit .402 with seven homers, 32 RBIs and 35 runs scored to lead the Padres to the CIF Central Coast Section Division I championship game. And it was the San Diego Padres who took the 6-foot-2 center fielder with the No. 69 overall pick in the MLB Draft.

Ryan Tellez
Elk Grove
The slugger they call “Rowdy” certainly caused a stir at the plate this season, batting .500 with nine homers and 46 RBIs to lead the Thundering Heard to a CIF Sac Joaquin Section Division I title. Through drafted, he is expected to suit up for USC next season.

Phil Bickford
Oaks Christian
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound righty struck out 18 in his last high school appearance to lead the Lions to the CIF Southern Section Div. IV title. He was selected No. 10 overall in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jack Flaherty
Harvard Westlake
Named Player of the Year by the L.A. Times and Mr. Baseball by Cal-Hi Sports, Flaherty went 13-0 with a 0.63 ERA. The RHP/3B pitched a shutout and drove in the game’s only run in the CIF Southern Section Division I championship game.

Carlos Salazar
The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, Salazar went 10-2 as a senior, fanning 147 batters and posting a miniscule 0.09 ERA. He also hit .430 with three home runs and 29 RBIs for the Lions.
