The Hofstra-bound backstop led Trumbull to the Class LL state semifinals this spring, a year after he helped the Eagles take home the crown in the ultra-competitive Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference.

The 5-foot-11 shortstop hit .534 for the Eagles this spring with 13 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He also went 8-0 with a 0.76 ERA on the hill, showing enough promise that the Cincinnati Reds selected him in the MLB Draft.

Rios helped the Saints capture a share of the ECC Small title, hitting .371 with 23 RBI and 24 stolen bases. The southpaw Maryland commit also went 8-1 with a 1.60 ERA, fanning 86 batters in 48 innings.

Spartans right-hander was the state’s top pitcher, leading Amity to the Class LL title. He didn’t allow a run in three playoff wins and no-hit Greenwich in the quarterfinals.

The 6-foot-3 righty was named Western New England Prep Baseball League Pitcher of the Year after going 6-0 with a 2.28 ERA and fanning 70 in just 47 innings. He was taken by the Phillies in the MLB Draft.
