Arroyo batted .524 with 11 homers and 35 RBIs to earn Class 5A Player of the Year honors. He also continued a long Florida shortstop tradition by being selected early the MLB Draft, going No. 25 to the Giants.

Mercado posted a pedestrian .286 average with 16 stolen bases and 17 runs scored for the Cowboys, but his defense and potential are off the charts. The 6-foot-2 shortstop was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals with the No. 57 overall pick in the MLB Draft.

A sweet-swinging lefty, Abreu hit .513 with six homers, 26 RBIs and 34 runs scored for the Lions this spring. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the MLB Draft but may instead play for the University of Miami.

One of the nation’s top quarterbacks, the 6-foot-3 Sandberg was slated to play football for Mississippi State next year but instead signed with the Phillies after being selected in the third round of the MLB Draft.

Named Class 4A Player of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers, Geyer went 12-0 with for the Crusaders (30-0), who won state and finished No. 1 in the USA Today Super 25. He struck out 95 batters in 75.2 innings.

The state’s Mr. Baseball, Danish led the Cougars to the Class 8A state finals, going 15-1 with 156 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. The righty also batted .411 with nine home runs and was selected by the Chicago White Sox with the No. 55 overall pick in the MLB Draft.

Morales earned Class 6A Player of the Year honors after going 11-2 with a 0.58 ERA and leading King to the state semifinals. A 6-foot-2 right-hander, he was drafted by the Reds but has signed with Florida.

The Indians’ 6-foot-2 submariner went 8-0 with 10 saves and 0.14 ERA to lead the team to its second consecutive state title. Hammond was named Class 7A Player of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers.

The son of former MLB All-Star Tom Gordon, Nick earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors after hitting .505 with 30 RBIs and 12 stolen bases to lead the Titans to the Class 8A regional finals. The 6-foot-2 righty also went 5-1 with a 0.78 ERA on the hill, notching five saves and 44 strikeouts.
