Height, weight: 6-1, 225
College: Undecided

Background: Led Purple Knights to 9-2 record and the state semifinals. Rushed for 1,792 yards and 16 touchdowns on 194 carries. Caught 45 passes for 745 yards and six touchdowns. Passed for two touchdowns while completing 21 of 32 passes for 322 yards. In the track and field season, he ran a 10.78 100 meters and a 21.72 in the 200. Frequently visited residents at Heritage Manor, a nursing home and rehabilitation center in Slidell, where his mother is an administrator. During a televised game against John Curtis Christian (River Ridge), when Fournette ran for 262 yards and two touchdowns, rapper Lil Wayne tweeted: “Leonard Fournette is the truth!”

Visiting Heritage Manor: I talk to all of off the residents, pretty much. My mom works in the office and they always ask my mom about me, how I was doing. So, I started visiting with people there and when I did, I really got enjoyment out of it.

Favorite musicians: Lil Wayne and Meek Mill. I was so surprised that Lil Wayne was watching that football game on ESPN and saying what he said. I think my favorite rapper is Lil Wayne for recognizing my talent.

People don’t know: I used to sing. I have a little voice. I sang in the church choir.

Favorite teacher: I love all my teachers. They teach me with the most respect and they push me to the limit, especially Mr. (Gerard) McClelland, Mr. (Ronald) Vigee, Mr. (Frank) Joseph, and Mr. (Donald) Neveu.

Nicknames: My grandmom calls me button nose, but the other people that I grew up with call me buga. It means real.

Most embarrassing: My 10th grade year, I had just scored on a 90-yard run and I went to sit down on the (bench) and fell off. I had to get helped back up.

Greatest achievement: Becoming wiser and a better leader. Just maturing as a young man. Doing the right thing and taking the right path. Helping people, especially the sixth-graders, with the little things. I try to encourage them that everything will be all right.

Biggest disappointment: Losing in the semifinals this year against Archbishop Rummel (Metairie).

Recruiting story: When Nick Saban and Les Miles came to the school my ninth grade year, that was pretty exciting.

My dad always says: In this game, you have to be starving, not hungry.
