Grade: Senior
Position: Defender
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 165 pounds

Athletic achievement: He scored 13 goals and passed for 12 assists this past season, leading the Eagles (21-4-1) to the Class 6A state championship game. Stroupe and the Oak Mountain defense allowed 11 goals all season, including just one in five state tournament games. The 2013 Birmingham Metro Coaches Player of the Year, he was a 2012 Birmingham News First Team All-State pick.

Academic excellence: Stroupe has maintained a 3.61 GPA.

Exemplary character: A member of the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society, he has volunteered locally as a youth soccer coach and referee and as a counselor at a Vacation Bible School.


“You can put Chandler anywhere on the field and know the job will get done,” said Joe Carter, head coach of Spain Park (Hoover, Ala.). “He is such a complete player. He is competitive and very passionate about soccer and it shows.”

THE FUTURE: Stroupe has signed with UAB.
