3. Mia Hamm
At 15, she was the youngest woman to play for the United States Woman's national soccer team. She won four NCAA titles at North Carolina, two World Cups and two Olympic gold medals in soccer.
Why Her: Hamm, who played several sports as a child, is widely considered the greatest all-around women's soccer player in history and a pioneer for women's sports.
Ultimate Moment: On May 22, 1999, Hamm scored her 108th career goal to pass Italy's Elisabetta Vignotto and become the world's all-time leading goal-scorer. Hamm's record has since been surpassed by Abby Wambach.
Funky Fact: As a kid, Hamm wore casts to help correct her partial club foot.
