8. Ray Lewis
A future Hall of Famer with more than 2,000 career tackles, Lewis was also a state champion wrestler in high school.
Why Him: Few athletes, in any sport, had the ability to intimidate the opposition to the degree of Lewis; whether it was delivering a vicious blow or hyping his teammates with his speeches and his energy. Lewis, a 13-time Pro Bowler, was named Defensive Player of the Year twice (2000 and 2003), as well as Super Bowl MVP after winning Super Bowl XXXV in 2000.
Ultimate Moment: January 28, 2001. In Super Bowl XXXV, Lewis recorded 11 tackles and also tipped a pass that was intercepted by his teammate Jamie Sharper. Lewis went on to be named MVP of the game.
Funky Fact: Lewis got his famous pregame “Squirrel” dance from a friend in his hometown.
