The Missouri-bound point guard teamed with classmate E.C. Mathews to make the Class A state champs Michigan’s top-ranked team (and No. 24 nationally in the USA Today Super 25).

Monte Morris | Beecher | Senior | Guard | 6-3, 175
Flint’s finest put up 24 points, nine assists and seven rebounds per game for the Bucs, earning Mr. Basketball honors.

Derrick Walton Jr. | Chandler Park Academy | Senior | Guard | 6-1, 190
The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, Walton averaged 26.2 points, 10.1 assists and 7.7 rebounds and 5.4 steals while shooting an absurdly high percentage for the Eagles.

Vincent Hunter | Detroit Consortium | Senior | Forward | 6-7, 210
Hunter teamed with freshman Josh Jackson to make Consortium one of the state’s top teams. He has signed with UTEP.

James Young | Rochester | Senior | Forward | 6-6, 210
The AP Class A Player of the Year, Young put up gaudy averages of 27.3 points, 16 rebounds and 5.7 assists in his final season before heading to Kentucky.
