Kai Barber (Totino-Grace, Senior)
The senior tailback posted three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 28-14 victory over Elk River Friday Sept. 27. Barber carried the ball nine times for two touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass. The win pushed the Eagles to 4-1 on the season.
Grant Walter (Spring Lake Park, Senior)
Spring Lake Park’s Grant Walter had a night to remember Friday Sept. 27 during the Panthers’ 41-13 victory over North St. Paul. The senior tallied four touchdowns on 13 carries totaling 207 yards. Walter leads the Panthers rushing attack with 577 yards on the ground this season on 9.3 yards per carry.
Jeff Jones (Minneapolis Washburn, Senior)
If people did not know Minneapolis Washburn running back Jeff Jones prior to Friday Sept. 27, they do now. The senior running back recorded seven touchdowns on 190 yards rushing in the Millers’ 62-6 shellacking of Minneapolis Roosevelt. Jones is tops in the state with 18 touchdowns to his name.
Adam Kraft (Delano, Senior)
Delano’s Adam Kraft made his presence known on both special teams and defense in the Tigers’ 28-6 victory over Orono Friday Sept. 27. Kraft returned both a 96-yard kickoff and a 78-yard interception for scores. The victory continued Delano’s perfect start to the season (5-0).
Tommy Singer (Apple Valley, Senior)
Eagles’ signal-caller Tommy Singer’s near-flawless 11-for-16 passing performance spurred Apple Valley to a 42-0 drubbing of Bloomington Kennedy Friday Sept. 27. Singer’s 11 completions went for 155 yards and three touchdowns. The win was the first for Apple Valley this season.
