COACH OF THE YEAR
Luke was promoted from assistant to head coach midway through a perfect regular season before he and the Cougars (20-1) made the deepest playoff run of any Western North Carolina school, reaching the semifinals of the NCHSAA 3-A dual team tournament. Freshman Adrienne Haynes was named the MAC Player of the Year and joined on the All-MAC team by Sena Mucklow, Kristie Kim, Adelyn Luke and Rose Mosher.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Haynes (21-2) was the Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the reached the semifinals of the NCHSAA 3-A tournament. She was undefeated in the regular season in singles (12-0) and doubles (9-0).
Blate (14-3) received All-Mountain Athletic Conference honors, with her only singles loss in the regular season coming to Asheville High freshman Adrienne Haynes. Blate qualified for the 3-A Western Regional tournament.
Mucklow (19-3) earned All-Mountain Athletic Conference honors and was undefeated in singles (14-0) and doubles (9-0) in the regular season.
Neiss (18-2) was the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference 2-A singles champion and advanced to the semifinals of the NCHSAA 2-A tournament, which was the best showing by any player in school history. She won the WNCAC 2-A tournament without dropping a game.
Smith (19-3) was the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference 3-A singles champion and undefeated against Henderson County competition for the second consecutive year. She and doubles partner Carolina Herrera were 11-5 together.
Snowdon teamed with fellow senior Emma McLeod to win the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference doubles championship. Their record was 21-1. Snowdon’s record in singles was 10-3.
