The Alpharetta Raiders were one of 32 high school football teams from the southeast who competed last weekend in the qualifying tournament for the National Select 7 on 7 Championship.
The Raiders dominated the tournament and went 9-2, with wins over Dutchtown, Cartersville, Mays, Hillgrove, Glen Hills, Duluth, Jackson County, Eastside (SC) and Cherokee.
The Raiders ended up in the Final 4 of the 32 teams that participated in the tournament. By making it to the Final 4, the Raiders were invited to play in the National Select 7 on 7 National Championship in Hoover, Alabama where they will compete against 31 other teams from across the country. The tournament will take place the weekend of July 24-26.
“I’m just so proud of how the boys competed in the qualifying event,” said Raider Head Coach Jason Dukes. “They played against the top teams in the southeast and did very well,” Dukes said.
Senior Raider Wide Receiver Daniel Clements was named the “Top Wide Receiver” of all the receivers from the 32 teams who competed in the qualifying event last weekend.
