ST. JOSEPH – Jake Samuelson had a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to erase a one-run deficit and the St. Cloud 76ers went on to defeat St. Joseph 4-1 in St. Cloud Sub-District VI American Legion baseball action at Schneider Field Monday night.
Jake Stock had the lone RBI for St. Joseph with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning that staked his team to a 1 1-0 lead.
St. Cloud Chutes 15, Zimmerman 0
Drew Peschel, Andy Lenzmeier and Jake Gross combined to allow one hit in the St. Cloud Chutes St. Cloud Sub-District VI win against Zimmerman at Dick Putz Field
Thomas Imholte went 2-for-3 with three RBI, Brian Minks was 2-for-2 with four runs scored and Jeff Fasching was 2-for-3.
Waite Park 7, Sauk Rapids 3
Bryan Benson drove in two runs to lead waite Park past Sauk Rapids at Dick Putz Field
Brandon Bloch finished went 2-for-3 and Zach Overboe scored twice for the Silver Stars (3-1). Bloch went five innings, allowing four hits to get the win.
Joel Haller hit a solo home run in the first inning for Sauk Rapids.
Sartell 10, Big Lake 1
BIG LAKE – Bo Schmitz went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles to lead Sartell past Big Lake in St. Cloud Sub-District VI play.
Blake Guggenberger struck out nine batters in the complete-game two-hitter.
Little Falls 4, Elk River 3
ELK RIVER – Bryce Zowatzke’s RBI double brought Collin Eckman around for the eventual game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning as Little Falls beat Elk River in St. Cloud Sub-District VI play. Josh Wenzel pitched 3 1⁄3innings of relief to get the win.
Long Prairie 3, Albany 0
AVON – Cody Steward struck out 10 in the complete-game two-hit shutout for Long Prairie against Albany.
Tommy Giesenhoff went 3-for-4 for Long Prairie..
B-B-E 2-3, Browerville 1-4
BROWERVILLE Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Browerville split a Melrose Sub-District VI twin bill.
Holdingford 8, Royalton 2
HOLDINGFORD – Holdingford scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to defeating Royalton in Melrose Sub-District VI play.
Austin Gerads went 3-for-4 with a double and Trevor Brown added two hits and two RBI for Holdingford (4-2). Matt Fountain had a double and Matt Presler and Randall Fernielius each had singles to lead Royalton.
