Augusta Prep rushed for 354 yards as it handed the Anderson Cavaliers their first defeat of the season, 35-25, at Old McCants Stadium on Friday night.

Nate Pyland rushed for 144 yards with one touchdown and Kevin Huggins 127 yards with touchdowns to lead Augusta Prep (7-1), which led 35-12 after three quarters.

Davis Cousar completed 21 of 30 passes for 261 yards with two touchdowns for the Cavaliers (7-1). Wayne Johnson had nine receptions for 94 yards with one touchdown, and Jesse Fisher had five receptions for 58 yards. Danny Waldsmith and Isaac Moorhouse had four receptions each, and Jaylen Copeland had his fifth interception of the season and a reception for 35 yards.

Augusta Prep held the Cavaliers to 24 yards rushing on 19 attempts.

Anderson competes in the Glory for Christ Football Conference, which is for boys ages 12-18 who are home-schooled or attend small Christian schools.
