Four area schools are believed to be major title contenders as the final Michigan Associated Press prep football poll released on Tuesday, ahead of this week’s first-round of playoffs.
In Division 4, Pennfield is ranked No. 9. The Panthers (8-1) will play at seventh-ranked Paw Paw (8-1) on Friday.
In Division 5, Olivet is ranked No. 7. The Eagles (8-1) will play at Hopkins (7-2) on Friday.
In Division 7, Homer is tied for No. 10. The Trojans (8-1) will host Reading (6-3) on Friday.
In Division 8, Climax-Scotts is ranked No. 6. The Panthers (8-1) will host Bellevue (6-3) on Friday.
All nine area teams that qualified for the postseason opted to play their games at 7 p.m. on Friday.
