Appleton East rallies past Oshkosh West in FVA softball

Maddie Durie hit a two-run double to bring home the winning runs as Appleton East rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a 7-6 win against Oshkosh West in Fox Valley Association softball action in Appleton on Tuesday.

Callie Troutfetter hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to give the Wildcats a 6-4 lead.

In the bottom half, Megan Schweitzer and Sara Hagmann opened with singles and Molly Krause loaded the bases with a hard shot at the shortstop. Lauren Blas­czyk brought home a run with a grounder to second, then Durie delivered the winner, bringing home Krause with the winning run.

At Oshkosh, Maddie Boyd allowed just one run and struck out 10 to lead the Lightning past the Spartans.

Hannah Lider was four-for-five with a double and four RBI for Appleton North.
