Aquinas stuns Canisius, 3-0

By

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- As rain fell in Rochester, Canisius’ hopes of an undefeated season fell to Aquinas.

The Crusaders lost to the Li’l Irish in a low scoring 3-0 finish. This is Canisius’ first loss since 2011.

Just days after committing to the University of Pittsburgh, Crusaders senior running back Qadree Ollison was kept in check by the Aquinas defense.

In the second half of the game, Canisius switched quarterbacks – replacing Jake Loucks for Zach Liberatore – to see if that would spark the offense.

It did not.

Aquinas’ defense came up big late in the game with a 4th down stand deep in its own territory, as well as forcing and recovering a fumble with under a minute left in the game. The Li’l Irish are undefeated at 2-0.

Canisius (1-1) hopes to bounce back next week against Walsh Jesuit.
