Knights defeat Burris

MUNCIE, Ind. – Northeastern overwhelmed Muncie Burris 24-0 on Monday in five innings.

Mason Slinker homered for the Knights, with Jordan Allen and Craig Dingwerth both driving in five runs.

Slinker, Kessler Fisher and Skyler Ashcraft all had three RBIs. Ashcraft scored four runs and tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Northeastern (8-6) plays host today to Hagerstown.

Rebels fall to Cowan

LYNN, Ind. – Cowan defeated Randolph Southern 7-0 in MEC play on Monday.

Jake Wissel went 1-for-3 for the Rebels, and Alex Welch had a double for Southern.

Bulldogs win big

MUNCIE, Ind. – Kayla Miller slugged two home runs, one a grand slam, and drove in seven runs Monday as Centerville overwhelmed Muncie South 15-1 in five innings.

Alexis Cox doubled twice with an RBI for Centerville, with Lauren Honkomp adding three RBIs.

Centerville (6-3) plays host today to Shenandoah.

Cowan rallis for win over Knights

FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – Cowan rallied with a five-run seventh inning Monday to edge Northeastern 8-5.

Emily Loden hit a grand slam for the Knights, while Sarah Scotten doubled.

Northeastern (6-5) plays at Winchester today.

WEST ALEXANDRIA, Ohio – Rachel Fickert went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two doubles Monday to help Tri-Village down CCC foe Twin Valley South 6-0.

Elizabeth Collins went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two doubles for the Patriots, with Krystal Falknor adding two hits and two RBIs.

Katie Straszheim doubled for TVS.

Tri-Village (11-4, 4-1) plays host today to Newton.

Red Devils down Wildcats, Lions

BROOKVILLE, Ind. – Evan Stoker claimed medalist honors by firing a 34 on Monday as Richmond defeated Franklin County and Rushville at Brook Hill Golf Club.

The Red Devils scored 166 as a team to 173 for Franklin County and 205 for Rushville. Matt Sheridan shot 39 for RHS.

Patriots stop Falcons

LIBERTY, Ind. – Kyle Chamness carded a low score of 39 on Monday as Union County halted TEC foe Winchester 172-196.

Brandon Edwards fired a 40 to lead the Falcons. Union County improved to 7-2 overall, 3-1 in the TEC.

Bulldogs stay perfect in TEC

Brittany Jones, Shelby Minhinnett and Micaila Rosenberger all won singles matches for Centerville on Monday as the Bulldogs swept TEC foe Union County 5-0 to stay perfect in the conference.

Lexi Stamper and Ally Moore won at No. 1 doubles for Centerville, with Merissa Ross and Sarah Lewellen doing the same at No. 2 doubles.

Centerville (5-0, 4-0) plays host Wednesday to Tri High.

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Lincoln defeated Hagerstown 5-0 on Monday as Michelle Seidner, Cejay Robertson and Kiersten Merida all won singles matches for the Golden Eagles.

Courtney Sebring and Sarah Maley teamed to win at No. 1 doubles for Lincoln, while Kailey Merida and Libby Buhl did the same at No. 2.

Lincoln (10-2, 4-2) plays Wednesday at Richmond.

Falcons win tri-meet

WINCHESTER, Ind. – Alan Brutchen won the 100 and 200 on Monday for Winchester as the Falcons won a tri-meet against Northeastern and Union.

The Falcons tallied 83.5 points to 40 for Northeastern and 32.5 for Union. Northeastern’s Eric Yandl won the 1,600 and 3,200.

EATON, Ohio – Kain Grose was third in the shot put and fifth in the discus for Hagerstown at the Eaton Invitational.
Hagerstown’s Cole Watson (fourth 300 hurdles, fifth high jump), Coty Bailey (seventh long jump), Clay Clark (sixth 1,600, fifth 3,200) and Matthias Ritter (seventh, 1,600) also placed. The 3,200 relay team of Clark, Christian Cox, Michael Norrick and Tyler Scholl was seventh, and the 800 relay team of Scholl, Bailey, Steven Golver and Austin Durham was seventh.

Falcons win

WINCHESTER, Ind. – Sophia Wickersham and Jill Morrison each won two individual events for Winchester on Monday as the Falcons won a tri-meet with Northeastern and Union.

Wickersham was first in the 1,600 and 3,200, with Morrison winning the shot put and 200 as the Falcons scored 73 points. Northeastern was second with 41 and Union third with 31.

Northeastern’s Kelsey Whirley won two events outright and tied for first in another. Whirley placed first in the long jump and 400, and tied for first in the high jump.

Tigers top Knights

Hagerstown defeated Northeastern 17-6 on Monday.

Sam Reagan had three hits for the Tigers, with Kodie Houghton tossing five innings for the win. Larry McDaniel, Garrett Blevins, Bret Templin, Brandon Doyen and Kyle Beeson all had two hits.

Middle school track and field

Tigers sweep county meets

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Hagerstown swept the boys and girls Wayne County meets on Monday.
The Tigers tallied 83 points to win the girls meet, followed by Lincoln (53), Centerville (28) and Northeastern (20). Aimee Hoodlebrink won the 100, 200 and long jump for Hagerstown.

Hagerstown scored 77 points to win the boys meet, followed by Northeastern (69), Lincoln (32) and Centerville (4).

Cardinals 2nd

West Side’s girls edged Seton Catholic 56-47 on Monday in a meet that also featured Union. Jenna Barker won both the 800 and mile for Seton.

Middle school golf

Richmond wins

Richmond defeated Centerville 192-193 on Monday.

Centerville’s Mason Rader was medalist with 36. Jake Miller led Richmond with 40.
