Eaton downs Fairfield

EATON, Ohio – Danielle Karns had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds Monday as Eaton halted Fairfield 58-45 for the Eagles’ seventh straight victory.

Autumn Whirley netted a game-high 21 points for Eaton and hit five 3-pointers.

“We have become a complete team,” said Eaton coach Gary Peffly. “I’ve been really pleased with the way we play together. We look for each other. We’ve developed confidence in each other.”

Eaton (14-4) plays host to St. Henry on Jan. 29.

“We have to continue this, each game one at a time,” Peffly said. “Work together as one. Hopefully we’ll continue on this little ride we’ve been on.”

Patriots earn CCC win

ARCANUM, Ohio – Three Patriots finished in double figures Monday as Tri-Village defeated CCC foe Arcanum 57-34.

Krystal Falknor led the Patriots with 17 points, while Teha Richards scored 14 and Shaye Thomas netted 11. The Patriots (13-1, 8-1) travel Thursday to Bradford.

RISING SUN, Ind. – Megan Schroeder led Seton Catholic with 15 points in a 55-29 loss Monday to Rising Sun.

The Cardinals (6-12) play host Feb. 1 to Indianapolis Shortridge.

Junior high basketball

Knights sweep

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Northeastern defeated Lincoln 24-19 on Monday in seventh-grade girls basketball, and 32-19 in the eighth-grade game.

Abby Hickman scored 10 points for the Knights in the seventh-grade game.

Sierra Gilmore finished with 18 points for the Northeastern eighth grade.

Tigers split

Hagerstown fell 39-27 on Monday in seventh-grade boys basketball to Tri, but won the eighth-grade game 43-33.

Trent Weiss scored nine to lead the seventh-grade Tigers.

Keeton Adams had 10 points and eight rebounds for the eighth grade.
