The No. 1 ranked Riverdale girls thumped La Vergne 52-16 Tuesday night to notch their 45th consecutive victory.
Shelbie Davenport led Riverdale (22-0) with 17 points. Alexa Middleton chipped in 16 points, and Tyisha Petty had 11. Latoya Darby paced La Vergne with 10 points.
Ola Obi had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Central Magnet to its 20th win of the season in only its second year of varsity. Claudia Smith scored a game-high 16 points, and Jaci Sullivan added eight.
Abbey Sissom scored 18 points with two 3-pointers as No. 4 Cannon County (22-3, 8-2) won. Madison Walkup contributed six points.
Ali Burns scored eight points in Eagleville’s road loss.
Megan Smith scored 14 points, and Abby Sweeney added 11 in the Middle Tennessee Christian School loss.
Marquis Johns’ 19 points carried La Vergne (15-8) to the victory. Brad Woodson had eight points for Riverdale.
Middle Tennessee Christian School remained atop the District 9-A standings with an overtime win over Cascade. Derrick Spears led all scorers with 32. Ty Hageman and David Capps had six each.
Perry Patton scored 12 points in the junior varsity loss, and Gavin Burgess chipped in eight.
Smyrna beat La Vergne 66-9 and defeated Cane Ridge 52-30 to improve its record to 10-8.
Smyrna’s two-time winners included Kevin Rogers, Kainen Rogers, Kaleb Schoen, David Cloninger, Kaleb Gonyea, Westen Helton, K.D. Brown, Nelson Masyan and Ashton Sisco.
Josue Garduno and Joey Walls each won their match versus La Vergne. The Wolverines got victories from Trevor Fredrickson and LeRoytarius Mayberry.
