Outlook: The Pioneers will be experienced, with 20 seniors and 18 starters returning. “We will be a much better team this year,” said Denison. “If we stay healthy, we can hopefully have some success in the playoffs.” Success in the playoffs has been a long time coming for the Pioneers, who haven’t made it out of the first round in three seasons, including long-time coach Gene Sartini’s final season.
