Broke at least three tackles on a 66-yard touchdown run during Hodgson’s 48-0 victory over Caravel last Saturday in the semifinals of the DIAA Division II Football Tournament. Hardy’s only carry of the game gave the Silver Eagles a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter.THE WEEK:

“I just got the jet [sweep] going to the left side, broke a couple of tackles,” Hardy said. “I didn’t want to get tackled, and I wanted to score and just help my team win. Next thing I knew, it was open field, and I was running for six.”THE RUN:

“That run was a determination run. That was all him,” Hodgson coach Frank Moffett said. “He wanted to make a play. … That was unbelievable. You thought he was stopped a few times.”THE COACH SAYS:

Hardy caught only three passes for 38 yards last season. This year, he has blossomed into the Silver Eagles’ leading receiver with 21 catches for 472 yards and eight touchdowns. “He’s just been a big plus for us this year,” Moffett said. “Especially with him being a senior, this is really his first opportunity to play for us, and he took it and ran with it.”THE IMPROVEMENT:

Hardy caught two TD passes in Hodgson’s 24-21 victory over St. Georges on Sept. 28. He would love to have another big day against the Hawks in the DIAA Division II state title game on Saturday. “We’re going to be ready for them, they’re going to be ready for us,” Hardy said. “It’s going to be a good game. All I can say to people is just come and watch the game. It’s going to be a good show.”THE BIG ONE:

A solid student, Hardy enjoys his Honors English class the most. “It really challenges us mentally, just challenges us to think,” he said. “It’s a really good class.”THE CLASSROOM:

The 6-foot, 170-pound Hardy hopes to play college football but has yet to decide on a destination. “I’m looking toward the end of the season, when I’m going to start sending out my highlight tape to a bunch of colleges,” he said. “We’ll just see what happens from there.”THE FUTURE:
