DENVER – Griffin Jax, the senior from Cherry Creek high school, was named the Gatorade Colorado Player of the Year.
Jax helped the Bruins finish the year with a 21-3 record, along with a postseason appearance in the 5A state semifinal, where they lost to the eventual state champions, ThunderRidge.
As a pitcher, he finished the season with a 7-1 record and a 1.74 ERA, accompanied by 57 strikeouts.
Off the field, Jax is a tremendous student as well, maintaining a 3.85 GPA.
He has committed to play baseball at the United States Air Force Academy next year.
