The Manitowoc American Legion baseball team fell to the Green Bay Shockers 9-3 Sunday night at Muinicipal Field.
Green Bay held a 5-0 lead after 1½ innings, but Manitowoc scored one in the second and added two more in the third to cut the deficit to two.
But that is as close as Manitowoc (6-10-1) would get as Green Bay broke the game open with a three-run fifth inning, before plating another run in the sixth.
BJ Anderson worked 4 2⁄3 innings on the mound for Manitowoc, allowing six earned runs on six hits, walking seven and striking out two.
The tandem of Nick Spurney and Alex Shimon accounted for four of Manitowoc’s six hits, each finished the night 2-for-4 at the plate.
