While the Valley JV and varsity teams were practicing Tuesday evening, a woman in a nearby parking lot accidentally backed over her own daughter.
With the girl pinned under the car, nearly a dozen Valley players who noticed the commotion ran over to help. Several players lifted the car while another player pulled the girl out. She was rushed to a local hospital with only minor injuries.
“I think we did a good job,” sophomore Jack Danho told News10 Sacramento. “It kind of bothered me throughout school today. It was still in my head. I was traumatized, but our quick thinking saved her life.”
