WESTON

Wausau West slipped to second place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a doubleheader split Thursday against D.C. Everest.

By losing the first game 13-4, West let Stevens Point Area Senior High clinch at least a share of the league title when it beat Marshfield 11-7.

SPASH has one Valley game left and can clinch an outright title with a victory. Only a loss by SPASH would let West hold a share of the title.

In the first game, three errors by West let Everest score six runs in the second inning. In the second game, West won 10-9.
