Andre Yevchinecz, who quarterbacked Binghamton High to state football semifinals the past two seasons, will join the football program at Wagner College on Staten Island.
A dual-threat athlete behind center, Yevchinecz led Binghamton to consecutive 8-3 seasons that each included Section 4 Class AA championships.
As a senior, he passed for 1,692 yards — 13.4 per completion — and added 918 rushing yards with a single-game high of 156 to go with four other three-figure outings.
Wagner College, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision, is coming off its first Northeast Conference championship and defeated Colgate in the opening round of FBS playoffs before losing to eventual national semifinalist Eastern Washington.
Yevchinecz makes it two Broome County seniors bound for Wagner, joining Union-Endicott’s Caleb Scepaniak.
