Sheboygan Falls standout Matt Wilke got his senior season off to a rousing start.

Wilke drained the game-winning 15-footer with four seconds remaining, lifting the Falcons to a dramatic 59-58 victory at Chilton on Tuesday.

Wilke finished with 20 points for the Falcons Nate Heili added 16 in the victory.

Jerad Wagner scored 20 points to lead Chilton.

Ozaukee 68, Kohler 65

Andy Richter nailed a 25-footer off a triple screen as time expired, giving the Warriors’ fans at home a reason to celebrate in a season opener.

Ozaukee rallied from an eight-point deficit with 90 seconds remaining, and ended the game on an 11-0 run.

Jake Wolff hit a 3–pointer, Owen Miller scored on a lay-up, then Wolff hit two free throws to tie the game.

Kohler had two chances to take the lead in the final seconds, but couldn’t. Ozaukee got the ball back with 2.4 seconds to go before executing at the end. Richter caught the ball in stride, looping around the screens before hitting the runner.

Richter scored 15 points, Wolff 13 and Miller 12 for Ozaukee, which had two critical steals in the final moments to spark the rally.

Brett Mueller poured in 29 points, including five 3-pointers, for Kohler.

The Crusaders finished the first half on a 17-2 run, and started the second on a 13-4 run — a 30-6 overall stretch — as Sheboygan Lutheran started its season with a big home win.

Tyler Zastrow poured in 20 points, including four of the Crusaders’ 10 3-pointers. Jeff Hess had 11 points and six rebounds, Jacob Jurss had 11 points and five steals and Phil Leibham added seven points and seven boards.

“We were slopping offensively. It was the first game, which you could tell,” said Lutheran coach Nick Verhagen. “We focused a lot on the defense of their big men, and allowed 12 points combined, which was a win.”

Reggie Willman had 13 to lead Living Word.
