MOORHEAD – The Sartell boys basketball team used a solid second half to advance to the Section 8-3A final.
The top-seeded Sabres beat No. 3 Thief River Falls 50-46 in the semifinals Monday at Minnesota State-Moorhead.
Tom Bearson scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and hit four 3-pointers to lead Sartell.
Pat Fischer scored all eight of his points after halftime and Tim Immelman scored 11 points with seven rebounds.
The Sabres trailed by nine at the half. Jacob Leier scored 15 points to lead the Prowlers.
Sartell (16-12 overall) plays Fergus Falls at 6 p.m. Thursday at Halenbeck Hall.
The Otters topped Alexandria, 70-60, in Monday’s other semifinal.

MORA – Royalton fell to No. 2-seed Onamia in the East Subsection 5A semifinal. The sixth-seeded Royals finish the season 10-17.
Onamia (15-12) plays top seed Barnum at 7 p.m. today in the sub-section championship.
New London-Spicer 76, Morris 49
COLLEGEVILLE – Second-seeded New London-Spicer dropped Morris in the semifinals.
The Wildcats will take on top seed Litchfield at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in Collegeville.
Brainerd 75, Buffalo 63
Top seed Brainerd dispatched No. 3 Buffalo with a semifinal win at Halenbeck Hall and will face No. 2-seed Elk River at 7 p.m. Thursday at a neutral site.
