The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin announced its Boys All-State Team with Plymouth’s Tyler Siech named an honorable mention.
Siech competed at the WIAA Division 1 State Boys Golf Tournament earlier this month at University Ridge in Madison and finished tied for 24th with a Day 1 score of a 10-over 82 and a Day 2 total of a 1-over 73.
Siech was an All-Eastern Wisconsin Conference performer, leading the Panthers to second place in the conference, then a berth in the D1 State Tournament.
Kohler’s Logan Willis was also added to the first team of the 2012 GCAW Girls All-State Team after tying for ninth at the WIAA Division 3 State Boys Golf Tournament with a Day 1 score of 80 and a Day 2 score of 75.
During the recent GCAW Summer Clinic, the GCAW Board of Directors and All-State Committees met to select the spring boys seams and additionally reviewed the qualifications and entries for girls who play during the boys season and retroactively added them to Fall 2012 All State Girls Teams if they warranted inclusion.
This is Willis’ fourth straight year earning all-state recognition after earning honorable mention in 2010, third team in 2011 and second team in 2012. She had a scoring average of 37.38, breaking her school record of 37.8, and had a school-record 11 first-place finishes — including the Central Lakeshore Conference Tournament and Regionals and a second-place finish at Sectionals.
Willis was named CLC Golfer of Year and is a four-time first team All-CLC player and has committed to play at Loyola University.
