South Group I

First Round

Mario Mendoza scored five times and teammates Declan Swartwood and Robert Schaufler tallied four goals each for second-seeded Bernards as they topped Cinnaminson, 18-0, in an NJSIAA South Group I boys’ lacrosse first round matchup.

Devin Ray and Will Kenny added two goals each.

Next up for Bernards is the winner of the Manasquan-Barnegat matchup.

New Providence
13, Robbinsville 4: The third-seeded Pioneers led 7-0 after the first quarter, which was more than enough to advance into the quarterfinals where they’ll meet the Haddonfield-Holmdel winner.

Regular Season

Westfield
6, Pingry 1: Leading 2-1 at half, Westfield shut out Pingry in the second half. Jack Colwell scored twice and Dane Huber added a goal and three assists for Westfield (11-5). Pingry drops to 1-12 on the year.

Red Bank 12, Monroe 11: It has been a rough last couple of days for Monroe, who dropped the Greater Middlesex Conference title game to Old Bridge on Tuesday by one goal, and now losing to Red Bank in the final 35 seconds of regulation. Matt Siemons scored three times and DJ Mascali scored twice for the Falcons.

Bridgewater-Raritan 7, Mountain Lakes 5: A tightly contested matchup, both teams were tied 2-2 heading into the fourth quarter, but Bridgewater was able to break through the Mountain Lakes defense in the final frame. Tyler Konen, Ryan Mygatt and Griffin Figel all deposited two goals each for the Panthers.
