Boys lacrosse: Bernards wins seventh straight by pounding Warren Hills

Declan Swartwood fired in six goals on Monday afternoon to lead the Bernards High School boys lacrosse team to a 14-1 triumph over Skyland Conference Raritan Division foe Warren Hills.

Devin Ray finished with three goals and two assists, while Robert Schafler collected one goal and three assists for the Mountaineers. Will Kenny scored one goal in the victory.

Warren Hills is 0-10.

Watchung Hills 10, Sparta 9 (OT): Jeff George (four goals, three assists) fired in an unassisted goal one minute into overtime to lift Watchung Hills (4-3). Freshman Tyler Furlong netted the game-tying score with 3:18 left in regulation to force OT. Alec Orazietti scored three goals and Ryan Cunningham notched two goals and one assist for the Warriors, who blew a 7-3 halftime lead.

Hillsborough 9, Livingston 4: Connor Fitzgerald tallied four goals to power Hillsborough (4-5). Wian Coetzer scored two goals and added one assist for the Raiders. Thomas Davies and Tony Zellers each scored once and Anthony Stavrakis scooped up seven ground balls for ‘Boro, which used a 4-1 fourth quarter to put the game away.

Montgomery 13, Kingsway 6: Josh Reinson scored five goals and collected three assists to fuel Montgomery (5-4). Maxx Berteletti netted four goals and distributed out two assists and Matt Stagnita scored three times and added two assists for the Cougars.

Rutgers Prep 10, Hun 4: Donald Stephan netted five goals and an assist while Evan Lombardo and Jack Vajda each added two goals to lead Rutgers Prep (9-0). The Argonauts outscored Hun (6-2) by a 5-0 margin in the fourth quarter.

New Providence 11, Millburn 7: The Pioneers trailed 7-4 midway through the third quarter, but scored five unanswered goals to take a 9-7 lead. Millburn would add a score to cut it to 9-8, but goals from Jack Harvey and Derek Singer sealed the win for New Providence (7-1). Harvey finished with four goals, one assist and four ground balls, Jon Ebert posted a pair of goals and Singer delivered two goals and picked up 11 ground balls in the victory.

North Hunterdon 11, Jefferson 2: Matt Kursar scored three goals with an assist, T.J. Marron netted two goals and two assists and Rob Marron notched two goals and one assist to lead North Hunterdon (3-7).

Governor Livingston 18, Union City 1: Brian Hutton scored five goals as to spark Governor Livingston (3-5). Alex Lipnick added two goals and six assists and Joe Pozniak scored twice, tallied an assist, and scooped up 14 ground balls for the Highlanders.

Old Bridge 14, Rancocas Valley 5: Chris Ryan tallied five goals and an assist and Bryan Gearghty collected one goal and four to spark Old Bridge (7-1). Larry Pedersen notched one goal and three assists and Dwayne Trawick scored three times for the Bombers, who took an 8-2 halftime lead. Nick Marzullo made 12 saves in the victory.

A.L. Johnson 12, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 8: The Raiders rallied with six goals in the fourth quarter but fell to 6-4.
