Two top-10 boys’ basketball teams will meet in Friday’s marquee quarterfinal of the Republic Bank Louisville Invitational Tournament, but neither will be at full strength.
Trinity (12-4), No. 1 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings, will face No. 6 Pleasure Ridge Park in the 8:30 p.m. nightcap at Valley High.
Trinity played without senior starters Darryl Hicks (foot injury) and Sam Strothman (flu) in Wednesday’s 51-41 victory over Western, and coach Mike Szabo said Thursday that both will miss the PRP game.
The Panthers, who beat Male 63-53 on Tuesday, will be without senior guard Taywan Taylor, who is making an official football recruiting visit to Colorado State this weekend.
Trinity defeated PRP 69-52 on Dec. 22 in a consolation game of the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic.
