Baylie Robinson and Josh Bass scored 10 points apiece in the Harper Creek boys’ basketball team’s 55-43 loss to host Sturgis on Friday night in SMAC East action.
Bass also had nine rebounds and two blocks for the Beavers (6-10, 4-9) and Alec Fisher had eight points and four assists.
Sturgis improved to 8-8 overall and 5-7 in the conference.

Jackson Lumen Christi 66, (at) Albion 41: Albion’s Quinton Welch had 11 points and eight rebounds in the loss to Class B honorable mention Lumen Christi. The Wildcats are now 4-12 overall.
Gull Lake 63, (at) Coldwater 48: Odell Miller had 16 points and eight rebounds as the visiting Blue Devils (8-8, 6-7) won this SMAC East matchup. Dean Kolstad added 11 points and four steals for Gull Lake. Coldwater (7-12, 2-11) received 16 points, four rebounds and two assists from Jordan Eddy.
(At) Homer 68, Union City 53: Alex White scored a game-high 27 points in the win for Homer (14-3, 10-1 Big Eight) and he also had six rebounds and three assists. Also for the Trojans, Zack Fleming had 11 points and Dylan Thomas added 10 points. For Union City (10-6, 7-4 Big Eight), Brady Johnson had 21 points and five rebounds, Emmett Fraley had 14 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, seven blocks and three steals and Josh Holton had 13 points, five assists and four steals.
Galesburg-Augusta 47, (at) Delton Kellogg 36: Galesburg-Augusta’s Jordan Born opened the game with three 3-pointers on his way to 17 points for the visiting Rams (10-6, 9-6 KVA). Delton Kellogg’s Anthony Houtrow scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds in the losing effort for the host Panthers (2-14, 2-12 KVA).
(At) Bronson 53, Niles-Brandywine 40: Mark Robinson had 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in the Vikings’ victory. Also for Bronson, Jake Gallup had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Eric Toledo netted 12 points.
Quincy 34, (at) Athens 32: Mike Tesch had 10 points and nine rebounds as the Orioles won this Big Eight tilt. Also for Quincy (8-9, 5-6), Ashton Diotte had six points, four assists and three steals; Jimmy King had six points; and Logan Miller had 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals. Athens (3-13, 1-9) received 12 points apiece from Hayden Bowersox and Lucas Jenkins.
