Somerville 3, Rutgers Prep 2: Evan Brown scored two goals and added one assist for eighth-seeded Somerville which prevailed in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament. Pablo Benegas added two assists for the Pioneers, who will face top-seeded Watchung Hills in Saturday’s quarterfinals. Joey Battaglia and Alec Aloia each scored one goal for ninth-seeded Rutgers Prep.

Bernards 4, Ridge 0: Danny Torres scored a pair of goals to power fifth-seeded Bernards past 12th-seeded Ridge in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament. Nick Neptune and Eddy Solis added goals for the Mountaineers, who will face fourth-seeded Gill St. Bernard’s in Saturday’s quarterfinals. Michael Schumacher made 13 saves for Ridge.

Montgomery 3, North Plainfield 2 (OT): Joe Morrissey, Jack Rodgers and Conner Yurcisin scored the goals for seventh-seeded Montgomery to prevail in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament. The Cougars will face second-seeded Pingry in the quarterfinals. Chico Atubi and Christian Medina scored second-half goals for North Plainfield.

Hillsborough 3, Bound Brook 2 (OT): Danny Pankulics, Zeke Realmonte and Ameer Metwally provided the scoring for sixth-seeded Hillsborough in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament. The Raiders will play third-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 1, Hunterdon Central 1: James Murphy scored for Scotch Plains-Fanwood (7-3-1) while Michael Simpson scored for Hunterdon Central (8-1-2).

Pingry 6, Orange 1: Matt Mangini erupted for four goals and two assists for power Pingry (8-1-1).

East Brunswick 3, St. Joseph 0: Junior forward Adam Rosa scored his ninth goal of the season with eight minutes to play in the first half, and senior midfielders Dominic Bohorquez and Anik Ray added insurance goals midway through the second half as East Brunswick cruised. Dennis Kotenko and Ryan Goydos combined for six saves for the Bears in the win while junior Brendan Wash stopped eight shots for the Falcons.

Timothy Christian 7, Piscataway Tech 1: David Figueroa led Timothy with two goals and three assists. Zach Coyle also had two goals for Tigers. Sonny Garcia scored for Piscataway Tech.
