J.F. Kennedy 4, Bishop Ahr 1: Junior Matt Scalia scored in the opening minute on an assist from junior Mikey Perez and the J.F. Kennedy High School boys soccer team never looked back, as they defeated Bishop Ahr 4-1 on Wednesday night at Lou Bartha Stadium.

Noah Miranda bent a beautiful shot into the net just before halftime, and Johnny Evangelou and Kieran Williams added second half goals for the Mustangs (5-5).

Luke Roche scored Bishop Ahr’s (4-5) lone goal in the second half.

Spotswood 2, Highland Park 1: Fady Habib headed home a corner from Nicky Logatto midway through the second half to lift Spotswood (5-4). Justin Vizzi scored on an assist from Logatto in the 8th minute for the Chargers while goalie Matt KRause made five saves. Kyle Thieringer scored a first half goal on Harry Landis’ assist for Highland Park (4-4).

South River 2, Carteret 0: Fabio Lucas and Jonathan Franco each scored goals on assists from Glauber Ferreira to propel South River (8-2-1), as Benny Harder made three saves for the shutout. Julio Velez made three saves for Carteret (5-5).

Middlesex 4, Wardlaw-Hartridge 1: Joe Korom netted a goal and an assist and Carsten Bowers made six saves in goal to lead Middlesex (5-6). Ivan Matta, Paulo Marina, and Luis Burgos also scored a goal each for the Blue Jays. Wardlaw-Hartridge fell to 2-7.

East Brunswick Tech 4, Cardinal McCarrick 2: Alejandro Fernandez scored two goals and Tyler Marsh and Fredi Rivera each added a score to lead East Brunswick Tech (2-6). Daniel Abril led Cardinal McCarrick with a goal (0-6).

New Providence 1, Dayton 0: Zain Stedman scored the game’s lone goal in the 28th minute to lift New Providence while keeper Mike zamora made 13 saves for the shutout.
