Hunterdon Central 1, Lenape Valley 0: Max Gomez parlayed a feed from Nick Provenzano into the game’s lone score during the second half of a Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament semifinal on Saturday afternoon sending No. 1A seed and defending tri-county champion Hunterdon Central past No. 2B seed Lenape Valley. The Red Devils (14-2-3) will vie for their 13th county title when they do battle with No. 1B seed Newton (14-0-1), 4 p.m. Saturday at Newton High School’s Palmer Field.

Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, First Round

Colonia 2, South Plainfield 1: Gabe Forero and Jacob Szlachta scored as 15th-seeded Colonia (8-7-2) moved into the quarterfinals. Josue Cevallos scored for second-seeded South Plainfield (13-4-1).

J.P. Stevens 2, Sayreville 1: Sid Hariharan and Antonio Nigro scored second half goals to lift fourth-seeded J.P. Stevens (13-4) into the quarterfinals. The Hawks out-shot Sayreville 14-9 and held off the Bombers, who received a goal from Bjourn Anderson in the final moments. 13th-seeded Sayreville (9-10-1) got 10 saves from Connor Drabik.

East Brunswick 3, New Brunswick 0: Kevin Walsh scored twice and Alex Mora chipped in a goal to lead top-seeded East Brunswick (15-2-1). Miguel Angel Vasquez made 10 saves for 17th-seeded New Brunswick (6-10-1).

Monroe 3, St. Joseph 1: Brandon Cherney scored two goals and David Durski had two assists to lead fifth-seeded Monroe (10-7-1). Brandon Cruz found the back of the net for no. 12 St. Joseph (8-8).

Edison 3, North Brunswick 0: Nabil Boto, Jon Collins and Ali Mohamed each scored for tenth-seeded Edison (12-7). No. 7 North Brunswick drops to 8-11-1.

South Brunswick 6, Middlesex 0: Kyle Goodwin scored twice, while Tommy Dorsay, Jorge de la Bandera, Paul Grudnick and Patrick Grudnick chipped in goals for third-seeded South Brunswick. Carsten Bowers made 14 saves for Middlesex.
