LAFAYETTE – The Brighton Bulldogs edged out the Centaurus Warriors 48-42 in the semifinal round of the 14th Annual Boulder Valley Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs came out strong and took an 11-7 lead after the first quarter. But then the Warriors stepped up their defense in the second quarter and took a 19-18 lead into the half. Their strong play continued into the third quarter where they put up 14 more points taking a four point advantage into the final quarter.

But Brighton bounced back in the fourth quarter outscoring the Warriors 19-9 on the shoulders of Cassie Kaiser who had 15 points in the game. The Bulldogs face the Gators of Standley Lake in the championship game on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.
